I’m David McKeown, a Pennsylvania-based photographer with more than 18 years of professional experience in photojournalism and multimedia. I spent much of my career working in daily news, photographing everything from high school sports and community events to breaking news and everyday life across northeastern Pennsylvania.
That background shaped the way I approach photography today. I’m always looking for real moments, strong emotion, and images that tell the story of what happened, not just what it looked like.
My work has been recognized through the Keystone Media Awards, including a first-place award for breaking news photography. But what I enjoy most is creating photographs that matter to the people in them, whether that’s an athlete making a big play, a Scout having an unforgettable experience, or a family finding a photo they didn’t even realize had been captured.
Sharp Mountain Media gives me the opportunity to continue doing that work independently and make those images easy to find, purchase, and enjoy.
